Ms. Intisar Al Jbouri

Former Member of the Iraqi Parliament (MP)

Ms. Al Jbouri worked as a lawyer for 20 years before winning the elections to the Iraqi House of Representatives (2010-2014) representing Nineveh province. She won two more times (2014-2018 and 2018-2021) outside the quota of the House of Representatives.

Ms. Al Jbouri was the Chairwoman of the Committee on Women, Family and Children in the Iraqi Parliament for the 2010-2014 session, Vice-Chairwoman of the Committee of the Committee on Women, Family and Children (2014-2018 and 2018-2021 sessions). 

Ms. Al Jbouri is the President of the Nineveh Spring Organization for Women and Girls, Chairwoman of the Steering Committee of the IOM Livelihood support and psychological and economic support project, Mission Iraq and Chairwoman of the Women for Peace Initiative in collaboration with civil society organizations, the Women’s Committee, the Ministry of Women, former deputies and the United Nations Women’s Office.

In addition, Ms. Al Jbouri is a member of numerous international and local committees such as: 

The Legal Amendments Committee of the European Initiative for the Implementation of the Security Council Resolution (1325) on Women in Conflict, the Network of Arab Parliamentarians (Leaders). Member of the Parliamentary Committee to Investigate the Fate of Detainees and Missing Persons, Observer member of the Liberated Areas Re-establishing Fund, and others.
